It would be quite a challenge for the company to pursue the culprits legally given that they coward behind anonymity during their attempts to smear the company. Because of this, proving culpability would be very difficult. However, now that the land owner is aware of the underhanded tactics and the lies perpetuated by some as well as the lengths the company has gone to to prove their good faith and ability to proceed as promised, those issues should be behind us now and hopefully never able to rear their ugly heads in this regard again.

There are measures the land owner and the company can take to better protect themselves from this type of nefarious play in the future. I would like to think that such measures are being taken.
