Theoretically APDN can be used in almost every industry segment as they are all hit by counterfeit parts/components.

I used to work in the Electrical Switchgear industry and we suffered a lot from counterfeit products creeping into our market. Pharma, Auto, Consumer Goods, Food products, Currency,...The list can be endless.

The only thing that can be holding this back at the moment could be the ease with which the DNA tag can be detected. They do talk about an IPhone App and hand readers but I am not sure how readily available are these options.
