I do not believe that ERHC was awarded Block 11A because they attended one conference or another, and I do not recall seeing any evidence that this was the case. I believe they got the block just how they said they did...with help from Circle Oil and Dr. Thuo. That, and being next in line when Camac decided to give the block back as Kenyan officials have said that Kenya was awarding blocks on a first-come, first-served basis at the time.

That is not to say that I think that ERHC's partcipation at conferences is not worthwhile and I agree with (I think it was) Southern Man's earlier post on the subject.
