When a stock is halted by the SEC and then starts trading on the grey market, the stock usually starts trading at around 20% of the pre-halt price. The price usually then declines at a much slower rate than you would expect, as share holders are often in denial about the fact that there is zero chance of getting reinstated to a higher tier. I have held short positions (and unfortunately one long position) through SEC halts. Disclosure - small short position in MDBX.
