Of course they're going to say that. They want to get rid of it. I doubt their customers are coming back in and making small talk about how much they really like it.
If you look at most of the companies pictures of product in stores, there's rarely any cans missing. People will argue that it gets restocked until you look around at the other products around it and see that's not the case.
