Reality check for arizona:
The reason you are confounded by what he says is that you do not believe in a personal God who created man in His own image. If you can't fathom that concept, and you laugh and call it a fairy tale of lunatics, even if it changed the face of the Earth and has persisted for thousands of years with some of the brightest minds included, then it is no wonder you "sit there for a moment unable to really understand what exactly it was that" you just saw. I've noticed many liberals have this problem a lot!
Liberals can watch this and point out the "technical" flaws, such as the differences between Communism and Socialism, but he is not making a speech on those differences. He's simply making an overall point, and that point is a higher one, but it only applies to those who believe in a personal God, and that is why it confuses you. Sure, Communism and Socialism have many differences, yet they have many overlapping philosophies. If they did not, then men such as Karl Marx, Fredrich Engels, and Leon Trotsky would not all be strong contributors to both systems.
Then, you focus on how he states that "gay rights" is not the real issue. He is speaking about those in POWER positions, and THEIR motivation, not yours. But I guess that went over your head. If you truly believe that those in power care a flip about you or any gay right, then you are most fooled. The goal, as Cruz states, IS to break down tradition and the religion that predominantly founded this country. Gay rights is simply ONE way to accomplish a PART of this overall goal, and it is working just as they planned, because we have seen the traditional family collapse over the past 30 years. There has been a polar shift in what is acceptable now, that was considered immoral many years ago. No one, not even children, believe that homosexuality, pornography, graphic violence, filthy language, and on and on is even taboo, much less immoral. This is the point Cruz is making, but as I said, if you are an atheist, and you believe that what you do on Earth has no bearing on an afterlife, then all you can focus on are the precise words, compared to your belief system, and it confounds you.
Cruz is not a lunatic. He simply can see that which you cannot, or refuse to see. But as the country and world continue to break down, and move until they are totally away from God and even deny His existence, then you will see God lift His hand of protection from America, and then you will see what living in a land and a world is like without this level of blessing. It will deteriorate at a rapid rate, and you might want to go back and watch some apocalyptic movies to prepare.
The federal gov't is so much smarter than sheeple liberals who they manipulate with ease. They are just as ignorant in their beliefs, as they hate and ignore God as well, but they KNOW what is coming, because they have orchestrated it. But they have armored vehicles, billions of rounds of ammo, underground bunkers, and plans for you, the sheeple, which you think do not even exist.
When Cruz's words actually make sense to you, it will be far too late.
