Project Summary: The goal of this project is to apply Kinetic Disintegration System (KDS) technology to process and pelletize biomass to form an energy feedstock.
3rd Quarter Activity: During the past quarter MnVAP has focused on reviewing engineering designs and documents to establish progress that has been made on project milestones. RDF grant administration met with MnVAP, the project engineer, and the Agriculture Utilization Research Institute to discuss the project status and reporting requirements. Although project related activities have been ongoing and reported in periodic progress reports, the milestone reports to verify project accomplishments have not been forthcoming. Reported progress appears to indicate that milestones pertaining to the design, testing, and redesign of various components of the KDS technology have been completed. A lack of submitting RDF milestone reports and the necessary deliverables has limited the disbursement of RDF funds to reimburse project related costs.
