I've spent some time over the last few weeks watching HereTV and LOGO. We can't get Q down here in New Orleans but I've watched as much as was available on Planet Out and through some links to their programming and here's my take.

LOGO.....entertaining in spurts. No hard edge stuff and the repeat programming gets tedious quickly. "Beautiful Thing" is one of my favorite movies but every other day is too much. The original series "Noah's Arc" is fluff at it's worst. Music Videos featuring gay or "gay-friendly" bands are fun the first time or two but then there's the repeat after repeat thing again.
Once a week you might be able to find an evening of programming that you haven't seen before. Maybe.

HereTv....Their original gothic series consists of 2 episodes and is boring once you've said "OK he's cute and he's cute. Is there an actor in the house?" The two other series are so-so although "Metrosexuality" was fun. The movies are usually not even bad enough to be campy but every once in a while a good one pops up like their original bio film of Maria Callas. I pay for this one so they get one more month to impress or later for them.

Q....based on a very small sampling I have to say that I would choose Q over the other 2. Actually a combo of Q and some of LOGO would make for an interesing channel.

The problem of Frank's mishandling of the truth (to put it as kindly as I care to) has been discussed by many for a very long time and there's no excuse for taking that tack IMO. Q needs to find funding from some other source than just selling shares and it seems to me that Frank has been loathe to do so. More carriers probably are in the mix and there will be revenues as well but in the meantime (and nobody knows how long that might be), how else to fund the ongoing operations? It seems painfully clear to me that so far the only way he'll consider is selling more shares. And more shares. Perhaps someone will convince him to reassess this approach. I don't know....sell a minority stake to Planet Out maybe. An alternative source of money needs to be found, filings need to be addressed and so on in my opinion before the pps starts to fall in line with all the progress the channel has indeed made. This has been an emotional issue for me because I'm a gay man and I want the channel to succeed but not at any cost. Not by misguiding. Not by crushing investors. Not by taking the low road and not by acting like the end justifies the means. Because for me in this case most particularly it does not. The means are important. Hopefully this mind set will change soon. Hopefully.
