Knicks have almost no one under contract starting 2015/2016, although as mentioned, I doubt that Carmelo passes up a max contract extension with the Knicks. He'll be older and want long term deal, spooky to me, nothing against Carmelo, just not smart to do max long term deals with guys 30 plus yrs of age. Same as Yankees always signing older ballplayers to big deals and getting stuck with their salary. Although Yankees win a championship here and there in process make it easier to swallow. In the NBA, you can't afford to have a max contract guy not playing at a high level....Knicks paying Bargnani like $12M this yr and $12M next yr with all his injury issues, crazy trade, chewed up lot of salary cap and lost a #1 in process.....Bad enough having Stoudamire at $21.5M a yr likely to get reinjured and miss large part of the yr. 40% of Knicks salary cap good chance to be riding the pine this yr, we'll see, hope not.
