Wachovia buys Tenn. branch

Wachovia Corp. has completed its purchase of Greene County Bank's
branch office in Farragut, Tenn.

Wachovia also has competed the sale of its Hot Springs, N.C., branch to
the Greeneville, Tenn.-based bank.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Greene County Bank, a subsidiary of Greene County Bancshares Inc., is
the largest community bank in Tennessee, with $780 million in assets. The
bank has 27 branch offices in eastern Tennessee and one in North
Carolina.

Winston-Salem based Wachovia has $74 billion in assets.
