I would be willing to bet that the prices were suggested retail prices and probably are discounted from there.

If a solar hot water heating system cost $10,000 and there is a 30% federal tax credit and a rebate of 1k from FPL then the actual cost of the system is 6k. half of what is being posted here, but hey, a little due diligence goes a long way. Customers are probably paying between 6 and 7 thousand for the system. That is a great deal for a solar hot water system that can save you at least 20% off your monthly bill. some say it saves up to 25%
