I have to say that one of my favorites is pretty recent. Either the Roche family or the Von Trapp family, I forget which, has accumulated shares totalling half of the company.

This was figured out mathematically. You see you add up the institutional shares, the mutual fund shares, shares held by Dart and the like, and the minute number of shares held by insiders, and then you subtract them from the total number of outstanding shares. The remaining shares are held by one of the above families. Never mind the 5,000 retail shareholders like myself and most here. Let say they hold an average of 10,000 shares each(I have 30,000), that's 50,000,000. Oops, forgot about those.

Another one on a similar note is "Who bought all of those 150,000,000 shares immediately after the September 24 fiasco?"

Intriguing.

More importantly, did anyone attend that huge HCV conference we were at a couple of years ago?
