You shouldn't get ripped cause GL has a Canadian Account and a American Account.

If your trading Canadian stocks just trade in your Canadian Acc thus escaping the conversion on ever trade.

PS Don't know what the cost is at all.
I have the Presidents Platium Acc and for me its free with all Markets Depth in Canada and US except the amex.
The Market depth is far superior than CSW only bad thing I found was you don't know who the seller or buyer is on the trades which was nice on csw.But at some point the TSE will remove that as well.
