Please Help...

I have a really bad cse of a cold/flu...I cannot get medication right now because of insurance issues...Is there anything homemade that we can drink or do that will help clear out my lungs and nose...and I'm starting to spit out that yellow tuff...any way to clean out my system faster in addition to drinking fluids...pelase help me out if u can...It feels like crap...
