A little house cleaning! Sierra Leone News: National Minerals Agency hunt 13 mining companies

The National Minerals Agency (NMA) has stated in a press release that thirteen (13) registered companies in the country currently carrying out explorations would be banned if they do not provide NMA or the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Resources with their required address or correct contact addresses they have moved to.
The press release revealed that 13 of these mining and exploration companies are currently on the run without contact locations to trace or reach them.
The Press release, issued on 7th October 2013, warned that by the statutory provisions of the Mines and Minerals Act 2009, all companies are mandated to furnish the Ministry with correct contact address details as well as promptly inform the Ministry of any immediate changes of address or contact information.
“The Agency however notes with grave concern that companies listed have either failed to provide the Ministry with the correct contact address details, or have moved from the addresses they provided without informing the Ministry,” the press release stated.
According to the press release, the companies accused are CCFG Consultancies Company Limited, DTA Diamonds(SL) Ltd, Global Trust Fund Ltd, LOHEGRIN RESOURCES LTD, Matrix Exploration and Production Company Ltd, Monte Oro Mining Company, Oxford Mining (SL) Ltd, PSM Venture Mining (SL) Ltd, Rui Xiang Mining (SL) Ltd, Sino Dingsheng Investment (SL), Style research (SL) Ltd and the Tanziron Resources Ltd Exploration companies plus one small scale company called Nimikoro Guoji Mining Company. According to the Communication Manager of NMA, Mr. Ibrahim Satti Kamara, NMA is poised to regulate the mining sector so that the State as well as the citizens will immensely benefit from their natural resources.
He said they came out with the press release to curb or terminate the existence of illegal companies in the country. He said the release serves as a final warning to all other companies particularly the aforesaid companies. He re-echoed that by Tuesday 15th October, 2013 they are expecting these companies to update their contact information, failing which NMA will recommend to suspend their licenses or at best ban their activities in the country.
