I'm using the 50:1 leverage that Oanda will allow. In the past I was making a lot of little trades with each trade being about 8% of my total portfolio size. But I ended up with just a lot of little losers. lol
I have slowed my role over the past 3 months or so. I'll take fewer trades as long as I can have more winners. Right now my trade size has increased. I am using 25% of my total portfolio per trade. I know this is excessive.
But I am still tweaking it. I've realized that this whole year, my first year in forex, is more of a learning process. I will probably settle in right around 15% of my portfolio size for each trade. Then I will also add funds on a regular basis as part of a general investment philosophy.
My overall results still pretty much suck. But it's changing quickly as I gain more experience. I hope to be green overall in next year's trading.
