Good for you for paying your own way...not everyone is that responsible and not everyone can afford to pay for a medical emergency requiring hospital care/stay. I can tell you from personal experience many people show up at the ER after their medical problem has gotten out of control, don't have health insurance, and expect the hospital to treat them - for free. I am please the Affordable Care Act will force everyone to carry health insurance - I am tired of paying for freeloaders.
What's interesting is the pol party that preaches personal responsibility is fighting against everyone being personally responsible for their own health care.
