How much did Sourcefire say about their negotiations with Cisco or with anyone? Companies do not routinely do that. Everyone that follows this stock knows very well that an acquisition is sought. The next thing they need to say is "SOLD for $$$$$." No reason for them to say anything else. It would only be viewed as an attempt to hype a stock. The kind of company that they are seeking to acquire them would be turned off by an apparent attempt to hype or manipulate the PPS. I know you say its not price manipulation but it can certainly be construed that way so why not stay clear of any appearance of impropriety. they need to act set themselves apart from the typical penny stock and that's what they are doing.
