Hi Lincoln,

Historically, and this is from my understanding from 2-3 years ago. Apple takes 30% cut, then MRNJ splits 50-50 with content owner. Thus, a $10 app purchase nets $3 to Apple, and $3.50 to GH (or some other content owner), then $3.50 to MRNJ.
I am sure this may vary a bit from client to client, but that is my general understanding.

For Free Apps that have iAD, I imagine it is a similar split between MRNJ and content holder.
For in-app purchases, I presume it is the same thing.

Lincoln said: I'm also assuming the downloads are on a free app and revenues come from people who decide to purchase more from the push notifications.

Storm Reply: I am a little unclear what you are saying here, but I will take a gander.
The basics are, a Free app like the Mega Relax and Sleep Well, can make money two ways, on iAd advertizing if they only use the free version or via in-app purchases. So, every time a session is played there are ads running and "impressions" triggered, usdually 1 every 30 seconds. Do a search on google on the topic of Ad impressions and eCPM...it explains it pretty well.
Packaging apps like this have also been nichnamed the "Freemium" model.

Thats my best shot at an explanation. I hope it helps,

Best Regards,
