Trout,

This article is a pipe dream.

This being said, if FASC wants to be a player, they need an update and keep updated to their site, especially the KDS throughput.

It takes about 100 tons of coal per hour to produce 100 megawatts of power.

the FASC site advertizes 3 tons of coal per hour. Coal plants will not even consider such a low through put.

There is less energy in bio-mass than in coal. less energy = more tonnage per hour for the same megawatt output.

The plant I'm currently at has worn out coal mills, but I can't/won't point them at a possible replacement where they would only have to buy only about 175 units to meet their needs.

If through put was up to say 20 tons per hour, maybe an argument could be made.
