This is an excerpt from a daily newsletter from David Pescod, a Canaccord broker. He is talking a bit about Breakwater, which some of you own. I couldn't reproduce the chart but maybe this is why the damn stock didn't do what I thought. I think I was pounding the table for Breakwater last spring. Couldn't figure out why it kept going down while zinc was going up. Finally gave up and sold. Would have been a nice winner if I had held but life goes on. Watch out for the ides of March!!! It’s the kind of market where the junior mining stories are
taking “wing” - already the comments are being made that
even some of “the pigs are starting to fly!” Volumes are hitting
record highs, as obviously speculators are opening
their wallets and want in. The obvious question is, though,
when does this all end?
When we talk with Canaccord mining analyst Wendell
Zerb, he suggests, that usually March seems to be the end
for these kinds of cycles, but will it happen this time? He
points to the booming commodity prices and some recent
discoveries and wonders if this time maybe it might go a
little bit longer. In the zinc sector his pick of EuroZinc Mining
(EZM) just hits new highs everyday!
We featured Breakwater Resources when it was a mere $0.39
way back on October 5, 2005 and the chart shows us that
over the last four years, if you bought Breakwater every October
and sold it ever March, you did really well. The chart
also shows you that is does peak every March.
Well, should you be greedier? We are hoping that maybe
we will see a buck on Breakwater by March, but for sure…..we
are gone then. It has served us very well so far!
