Evidence is not binary: there are different degrees/standards.

Your contention that if it's not the very highest standard of evidence it is merely "on faith" is utterly false. To anyone subscribing to such a false dichotomy, biotech investing would be a pure gamble and, frankly, one has to wonder why such a person is even interested in an early biotech in the first place.

Investing is early biotechs necessarily means weighing early/intermediate evidence. Note that even peer reviewed double blind studies don't prove that a drug works unless it's in a Phase II or III clinical trial. And even THERE safety is not conclusively proven til it's been ON THE MARKET for years (drugs can and have failed AFTER passing clinical trials and being on the market for years because of unacceptable delayed side effects becoming apparent.)

The question here is not one of whether a drug is "proven" or not, but WHAT THE STANDARD OF CURRENT EVIDENCE IS and does that meet your individual investing requirements.

NOTE ALSO that evidence is open to interpretation (or misinterpretation as the case may be). People (even researchers) can and do draw false conclusions from even the best of research studies (conclusions that are not really supported by the evidence).

The reality is not remotely as binary as you are presenting it to be.
