This discussion came up a few years ago and, if I remember correctly, the downside was the perceived negative connotation of "animal drugs" being accepted as a solution for humans. IMO this are rather senseless aesthetics, but nonetheless, real enough to be of concern.

I am open to correction if my recollection is inaccurate.
