Hey all,

I decided it was time to start visiting this board, the Yahoo board is overwhelmed with yahoos!

I like the Judge Jordan news, he is another Judge that "gets it". The FTC and payne are becoming more and more boxed in as the legal tide turns in Rambus' favor.

I didn't do a 2006 prediction, because it seems that every time I make a prediction on price, or start figuring exit points, the stock drops. I don't really think I'm the cause of it, but I do seem to get into the wrong bank teller and grocery checkout lines all the time, so I figured I would just save the board the jinx.

I do think that we will see another settlement very soon, and I'm guessing Samsung, before payne rules on Friday. I expect that Rambus has given Samsung a nice offer, contingent on Samsung accepting before payne rules. If Samsung takes it to payne, and then drops the case, Rambus is going to ask for more moolah. If payne rules AGAINST Rambus, Samsung just bought a higher ticket even later after the appeal is over. Samsung has to know that the "exceptional case" bs is just that, BS.

I'll bet Hynix is clamoring to settle, but Rambus is using all the Judge Whyte leverage they can. Hynix doesn't want the backup logs and Tabrizi documents to get out to the public, nor do I think any of the amigos want the anitrust case to go to trial.

The latest Judge Jordan ruling puts more pressure on Micron, who has had the benefit of sitting on the sidelines with minimal legal expense. That pressure is needed to get Micron to sign before Hynix.

If Samsung signs, Micron signs, and maybe a controller company or two, I think Rambus would let Hynix settle. I don't see the smaller companies fighting Rambus in court. After Micron signs, I see the FTC dropping the case.

But I've been wrong before, and this opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.
