I found something, just this morning .. RR was responsible for 'universal health care' ..yes, in a sense. He was the one that fixed it .. so NO ONE .. citizen or NOT, could be turned away from hospital emergency services .. and you know the rest of that story ... ;) ........hospital and I guess all ancillary prices had to go up also to make up for the people coming in the er rooms with no pay.. sound familiar?

The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)[1] is a U.S. Act of Congress passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). It requires hospitals to provide care to anyone needing emergency healthcare treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay. There are no reimbursement provisions. Participating hospitals may only transfer or discharge patients needing emergency treatment under their own informed consent, after stabilization, or when their condition requires transfer to a hospital better equipped to administer the treatment.[1]

For a total conservative .. he did do two things that I approved of . .This was one of them. And he did an amnesty, at least for everyone in California. AND, he did raise taxes a teensy bit after he saw his deficit climbing up to the stars. (after his tax cuts, that is .. ;) ) . .NOT enough! . .but at least he did it . .these guys we've had lately wouldn't be caught dead raising taxes ... unless they are democrats . .I mean it appears .. Conservatives philosophy is " Screw DEBT " .. We don't have to pay the charge card off! . "Screw It" .. ;)

anyway, i thought that was interesting about Reagan. .Just one more little Reagan tidbit ...;) and this one not so bad .. . ;) .. all though I'm sure at the time someone gave him hell for it .. ;) .......maybe . .or maybe the world and it's people were a bit different then too ... ;)
