You don't make the rules. It doesn't matter if you think some of these earnings numbers are cooked. If 90% of the market want to play along, you have to play along. Otherwise, wouldn't you be shorting most of the time since you think all the numbers are lies? You could be run over long before the truth comes out, whatever you think the truth is.
