My guess is they were enticed over with plenty of free options at the expense of investors.
As far as short interest is concerned, I agree investors like to make excuses when the SP doesn't make their expectations. It's 'manipulators' or 'short sellers', certainly the company doesn't bare any responsibility, god forbid.
When the SP doesn't match the expectations set forth by the company, I blame the company.
