brooklyn, There is a clearing house somewhere (I don't know exactly who or where) but they keep track of all the shareholders in a company. How else would they know to send the info for a shareholders meeting? My Merril Edge and my Etrade brokerage sends me a letter in the mail of upcoming meetings.
