I need everyone's help. As some of you know, I had surgery last week and was waiting for the pathology report to come back. Well, I wish it was still pending. My doc told me I have a very rare cancer, the same type that Steve Jobs had. Technically, it is a high grade poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma. Worse yet, it has histologic grade of 3 and a mitotic rate of 27 per 10 high power fields. This is a very bad player and there's a 50/50 chance it has already metastasized. That will be determined by PET scan this next week. I will be staged after that. Depending on that data, my life expectancy is between 5 and 36 months. So much for reading Atlas Shrugged.

I have already been in touch with Leo and as you will not be surprised, he will be discussing it with Dr. Menon. Endocrine cancer is one of the cancers in the phase 1 trial for Kevetrin at Dana Farber. Wouldn't it be wonderfully ironic if the drug company in which I am heavily invested cures me?

However, I'm wondering, given the depth of research many of your do here, are any of you familiar with this cancer and aware of any other options? I have already identified a very exciting phase 1 that will be starting in Sweden with a college professor who has identified an adenovirus that "eats" neuroendocrine cancer. It destroyed the cancer in mice, but we all know mice are not necessarily men, unless your Steinbeck. See http://afuu.org/current-campaigns/oncolytic/

Thanks in advance for your kindness. And Kelt, I hope you're doing well.
