In his Letter to All Americans, Russia's president Putin said "It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional".
To which Wash Post's Dana Milbank replied, Dear President Putin: "Americans do not believe they are better than other peoples. If you doubt this, you need only look at Congress. If we really thought we were superior, is there any chance we would elect them to represent us?
Anyway, it was such a pleasure to get your letter. Please write again soon. I think this is the beginning of an exceptional friendship".
