OT - Interesting comment posted on the current Snowden/controversy of intrusion of the internet by the NSA posted on Matthew Green's Blog. You say business may just go "back to usual". I don't see how that's possible, since commerce is one of the fundamental areas that are impacted by this news. I manage the capital markets practice at a mid-size hedge fund. You better believe we're transitioning away from any closed-source U.S.-based commercial applications and accounts. The larger funds already do most everything in-house, but you'll see smaller and smaller funds choosing open-source and bespoke solutions going forward. It's too bad the NSA forgot it's original mission of *safeguarding* U.S. business communications instead of undermining and weakening them. Now, all that tech business that has driven the economy the last 20 years is going to go elsewhere. http://blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2013/09/on-nsa.html
