The "mainstream couch potatoes" regularly spend much more than that on gadgets for the house. It's all about breaking it down per person, as well as what they'll get from the gadget. They're going to save much more money by getting the Nuvola, than paying for cable and games for themselves and the kids.
I've been in the retail jewelry business for 19 years and I've seen people who make very low incomes not hesitate on spending $$$ for jewelry, electronics, etc.....
