Once upon a time I worked in a place that was looking for a new person to lead the company. Since I was the comptroller, I was asked to review the resumes of the candidates and meet them casually almost if by accident. Later, I was asked what I thought of the candidate that was finally hired. My reply: "If he is what he claims to be, why is he here? Why would he want this job? It makes no sense. He would not be applying at any place that is not at least a hundred times as big."
They hired the guy, and four plus years later, the place was shut down by the IRS for not paying payroll taxes. The fellow had run the business into the ground.
That's what's going on here. Padded resumes by average Joes who are hoping something works out. If they were somebodies, they would go work at a real business or they would be bringing in big dollars to the table because they truly believed in the product. I've got more than 40 years in the business world and I have seen this kind of things more times than I can count. You have got to be able to see past the lipstick.
