Can Maxine Waters save/get through to congress that a slight change is needed to GSEs; yes.. but not a complete overhaul of them.. Radical change is not the solution at all in this delicate real estate market.

Banks/loan officers are at fault for the financial crisis not fnma they just insured the loans; but now are unfairly deemed as the scapegoats. Gotta blame someone right? I can't even believe that they would even suggest to "wind" these giants down. The mortgage/real estate industry would be a lot worse without them... IMO
