As funny as it sounds your point of "txt spk" has a lot to do with the stock market and the OTC stocks in particular.

The generation you are talking about is really just starting to get into investing and the stock market. Some have been in a few years but the majority will be entering the market more and more as the years go on.

That generation (as a stereotype) is pretty lazy. They don't want to bother talking on the phone, they write "tweets" back and forth, and are generally too lazy to bother to even write out a word or phrase like "I don't know"(IDK).

That generation of video games and cellphones want instant gratification and do not want to pay their dues before they get the rewards. Video games as an example have been dumbed down to the point that clicking on a screen and managing time is the popular games. no skill needed everybody wins. YAY!!
We all get a trophy and nobody is a loser.

The OTC market is where a lot of beginners get their first taste of trading. They learn the worst of lessons because they want the instant success. They are promised a trophy and they get screwed. They lack "street smarts" and are not willing to accept responsibility when they are the loser in the game and don't get a trophy.
A company developing a product has to have billions in sales in 3 years or they are not worth the time.

A company like KBLB trying to make an unnatural creature produce a natural fiber is not something that generation has the patients for.
OMG it took 3 months to pilot test!??! Its taking too long!!! WAAAA!!!

I don't know about the rest of you but I turned 50 last June I am not worried that I wont live to see the rewards from Kims vision.

IMO "Ahead of schedule" is an understatement.
