I like to find high volume tickers with unrealized value. A perfect example is INO. My tradin strategy is to break my portfolio into 5-10 tickers, and let the good ones sit for a while. I plan on dropping half of my INO fairly soon (within the next 60 days) and will hold the rest for a long position. Another strategy I like to employ is the play on emotion. This is the only use I have for shorting. I listen to CNBC and listen for them to drop names. People flock to whatever company based on herd like trading. It always peaks up fast, so I look for positions where I think it is overbought and short it down to size. A good example of this was JCP when the executives where fighting. Unfortunately at some point in time either at the beginning or near the end of the conferences someone will try this strategy. Personally I am hoping a buy out or institutional investor will pick up the pieces. Thats why I intend to hold a long position here. And by long I mean 1-???? years
