smd1234,

Nice to see a familiar face, welcome to the board. Your posts will be welcome here. I'm not expecting you to make a commitment. In fact I don't know how much time I'll invest here either but I do have a stake in this and these guys needed a forum that wasn't noisy.

Sorry if you’ve taken a beating in biotech’s. If you ask me Targeted Genetics being one of the first companies on the block has laid much the groundwork for sound delivery methods. I just think the street got tiered of waiting, TGEN’s day will come.

Targeted Genetics has very powerful technology don’t get me wrong but different. In fact I think it’s appropriate to mention TGEN on this board as a supporting technology. "recombinant adeno-associated virus technique for the manipulation of DNA." From Sirna’s standpoint it’s like comparing a car to its occupant. Sirna’s compounds will likely be coupled with TGEN’s AAV technology. "AAV is a naturally occurring virus that is not associated with any disease in humans. The vector efficiently delivers genetic information to numerous cell types and can be engineered to carry a variety of DNA sequences." I know TGEN is building the complete package car and occupant but Sirna is specializing in just the occupant. . . . Partner Allergan is also working on delivery methods; I’m not sure on the approach off hand.

As far as the average investor is concerned I think the PBS Nova link for RANi will sum the picture up better than me. It also delves into treating age-related macular degeneration AMD.

We should mention Targeted Genetics is partnered with Sirna Therapeutics, Inc. in the pursuit of Huntington's Disease.

All I can say is sit back and watch if you’ve been burned. I'm not going to give you a hard sell or tell you to buy. Since you and I started talking about Sirna its made better than a 10% increase. Many investors would be tickled to see that. I've kept a core position and traded my play money on the cycles. Just keep an eye on this technology that’s all I’m saying, you posed the question and this stock was ripe for a move when you asked.

In my eyes I see "Sirna" in a pure IP business model but without the legal roadblocks you and I have seen in a unrelated company.

parakeet_luck on Yahoo Msg: 21883 summed up the business side pretty good.

- Sirna develops optimized siRNA lead compounds
- Allergan conducts and funds all pre-clinical development, clinical, regulatory, and commercialization activities
- Allergan provides proprietary and novel delivery technologies"

Currently partners like Allergan are going to drive the Sirna business plan. They will work on the delivery methods and marketing and such, Sirna will develop and patent optimized siRNA lead compounds. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/09/30/BUG7IF01SP1.DTL
