Trying to be clear about "earning" a price of $5+ a share and the erroneous supposition that something unearned accrues to someone because of a reverse split.

If a RS takes us to $5+ a share nothing fake has happened. There would be no gain for anyone involved that could be called "unearned."

Hypothetical example using a 10 into 1 RS:
Before RS: My 10,000 shares at $1.00 is worth $10,000.
After RS: My 1000 shares at $10 is worth $10,000.
Same for everyone else, pro rata. No one has an unearned gain.

I'm posting about this so, if I'm wrong, someone can set me straight.

Suppose we are at $1 a share.
We want to earn a price of $2 a share.
We want the market cap to double.
We do a reverse split of 2 into 1.
Now we are at $2 a share.
Market cap (value to company) is unchanged.
We have produced no increase because of the RS, earned or unearned.
To earn the equivalent of a pre-split $2 a share, we need to get to $4 a share.
We need to earn a doubling of market cap.

If I'm wrong, please let me know. I may not respond but I will think about what you say.
