40days only applies to intra-day charts.

Try and get an hourly chart with 1 month duration...same type of limitation.

Also you cannot get back dated intraday charts beyond the predefined conditions.

I have often wanted to test a trading hypothesis on hourly...cannot do it with StockCharts..perhaps it is one of those datafeed restrictions.
