dabug....ameritrade extended hours trading

You can go to thir website and get a full explanation...basically you have full access to amex, nasdaq and nyse for trading from 4:15pm to 6:30pm and from 8am to 9:15 am using their extended hours menu.
There is also a way to have 8am to 8pm orders filled (trading does continue after 6:30 pm) by using "GTC+EXT"...however it's been my experience you must enter those orders during regular market hours...if you try to enter that in PM extended hours, it will wait until the next open to activate the order.
