My decade estimate to open a commercial mine is actually conservative. The average time to open a mine today from discovery to production is 18 years. 18 years.

Since there are no recently opened (or reopened) mines in Colorado, I can't give you a specific example from the same State, but how about one from Arizona? It is also a small operations and a "brownfields" project as a former producer. Because of the tens of millions in work done by the prior operator prior to closure in 1996, it only took this company 15 years to reopen as it opened in 2012. 3 years better than average.
