St. Eugene Mining buys more Cranbrook claims

2006-01-04 17:56 ET - News Release

Mr. R.T. Trenaman reports

COMPANY ACQUIRES ADDITIONAL MINERAL CLAIMS

St. Eugene Mining Corp. has added substantially to its mineral claim position along the favourable St. Eugene silver-lead-zinc mineral belt 32 kilometres south of Cranbrook in southeastern British Columbia.

Before the acquisitions, St. Eugene owned 1,363 hectares in 79 Crown-granted mineral claims at Moyie. With the recently acquired mineral claims, the company's propertyholdings have been increased by 170 per cent and now total 3,661 hectares. The company now has exploration rights covering a strike length of approximately 10 kilometres along the favourable St. Eugene mineral belt, both east and west of the original silver-lead-zinc St. Eugene mine, which was owned and operated by the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Co. of Canada Ltd. The mine was one of the premier silver-lead producers in Canada until its closed in 1911. The additional claims were acquired for staking and transfer costs by the company.

The company will continue to seek to acquire exploration properties in the area that possess the geological environment needed to host St. Eugene-style mineral deposits.
