Hamburger Helper was first introduced in 1971. In 2005, the American-based Food Network listed Hamburger Helper as number three in its list of the top five fad foods of the 1970s.

Considering his stats as a pro angler start in 1997, I'm going to hazard a guess that he didn't have much to do with Hamburger Helper being #3 on the list of top 5 fad food of the 70s.
