Thank you for posting this document. I perused it and it appears to say what some of the longs here have contended for some time. Sony/BMG has left the door open to manufacture Cds with a newer version of Mediamax and has placed in line a framework for including copy protection on its CDs. This framework should become the standard used by everyone, if the Court approves the settlement and if BMG is successful in getting the State AGs to agree to the settlement also.(the document notes that a settlement in those cases was anticipated sometime soon.

All in all, I dont think that this is bad for SCMI, since BMG is fighting hard to keep the door open to use copy protection on its CDs.
