That is a stretch of the imagination to infer that the company "needs" shareholders to root out these items for the company. I believe it was a volunteered action, non-solicited by the company. To suggest otherwise is bold and quite misleading.
People feel they are contributing to their own investment when they take voluntary actions like this. Nothing more.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
