This is the auction sites's heading:

It is an on-line auction. You submit your bid, then after the bidding end date they select the "winner". The bidding has been extended.

Update: Just talked with the auction house and the auction bidding is being extended, no delay in the auction. You can submit your bids starting later today -- in case you want some memorabilia.
