I have, many times. How about h. pylori? I think it took more than 20 years before CDC announced that ulcers could be cured by antibiotics. Until then, very few doctors would treat it with anything other than antacids. The AMA hadn't approved anything else.
Yeah,I know. Until the AMA and CDC approve it, it isn't a proven intervention.
Here's a better example. Look up the Sinclair Method for alcoholism. Over 500,000 patients have broken the habit in Europe, but AA says it can't work, so I know of only three doctors in the US who will use the treatment.
