I personally think the PR was just a touching base--- although I thought it was nonsense I used to work in PR many moons ago and we would do things like that just to keep billing up--- not saying it was right or worthwhile but that's exactly what this felt like and read to me. He is not ready to release numbers and whatever firm he is using suggested he put something out since thy are not ready to release numbers. This smells way more like a PR form suggestion to him that he suggesting it and from experience when you sign on with a firm like this it's more or less an all or nothing deal, with the companies having to trust their judgement. I think it was a stupid call personally, but I dot think it was Cerps idea. My two cents-- and I used to be VP of PR for a large agency with big clients. I quit the business because I found it highly unethical--to people and to the clients we billed.
