XP/OSX bake-off;

Would you expect any significant difference? MS SW in general is way over-bloated, so that might give OSX an advantage. OTOH, has OSX been optimized, or has Apple had their hands full just getting it to where it is today? Seems like I've read that the kernel has performance issues.

Judging from the slowness of window resizing in OSX, I'm not sure it would hold up too well in a bake-off, but maybe that is not typical of other routines (but then, why hasn't Apple 'fixed' it?).
