I was always dumfounded by the timing of that BOA's purchase of Countrywide. I was in subprime for years and I could not make sense of it . I remember at the time they said they were taking the time to "expand their mortgage platform " but at that time there was nothing left and it looked like everyone was going to jail. Can someone explain the logic, please.
